Why Riverside Counseling?

I help people create lasting internal change—not emotional maintenance. My focus is simple and precise:

Felt change over time—not just relief in session, but real change in daily life. I work to shift how your nervous system, thoughts, and relationships actually function outside the therapy room.

What Makes My Work Different as a Mental Health Therapist

Most therapy helps you understand what’s happening.

I help you change how it happens.

Over time, my clients notice:

  • Less emotional reactivity
  • Faster recovery from stress and triggers
  • Clearer boundaries in relationships
  • A more regulated nervous system outside of sessions
  • Old patterns losing their automatic control

This is not endless talking.

This is structured, depth-oriented change work.

My Clinical Framework: The HERO Model

I use a clear structure to guide the change process at Riverside Counseling:

H — Hold (Stabilize)

We start by helping your system feel safe enough to change. Regulation comes first.

E — Examine (Map patterns)

We identify the emotional, cognitive, and relational cycles that keep you stuck.

R — Rewire (Shift the system)

We work at the level of nervous system responses, beliefs, and emotional memory to create real change.

O — Operationalize (Live it outside therapy)

Change only matters if it shows up in your daily life—not just in session insight.

Who I Work With

I support individuals experiencing:

  • anxiety and chronic stress patterns
  • trauma and nervous system dysregulation
  • depression and emotional shutdown
  • relationship and attachment difficulties
  • identity and self-worth struggles
  • life transitions and overwhelm

What You Can Expect

Working with me is:

  • structured, not open-ended
  • collaborative, not passive
  • depth-oriented, not surface coping
  • focused on change between sessions—not just inside them

I don’t believe in therapy that keeps people stuck in cycles of talking without progress.

I focus on change you can actually feel over time.

My Philosophy

Healing is not emotional repetition.
It is the gradual restructuring of how you experience yourself, others, and life.

Change becomes real when:

  • your reactions shift before you consciously catch them
  • your patterns lose their control over you
  • your relationships begin to feel different
  • your internal world becomes more stable over time

That is what I mean by felt change over time.
